Camino de Cruces
The Camino de Cruces National Park was established in 1992 and forms an ecological corridor connecting the Soberania National Park, to the north, and the Metropolitan Natural Park to the south, allowing the continuous movement of animals between the various protected areas. The legendary trail, Camino de Cruces was completed in 1550 and is one of the first roads built by the Spanish Conquistadors. The Spanish used the cobblestone road to transport Peruvian gold to Spain. This tropical rainforest offers excellent opportunities for nature enthusiasts and is well known for Howler monkeys, Coati, Collared anteaters, Iguana, and a wide variety of bird species.
