Visas
There are two main kinds of visas for those looking to retire or relocate to Panama. If you can prove a minimum of $500.00 ($600 for a couple) in monthly income, you get a Retirement (pensionado) visa regardless of your age. And the second is a (Person of Means). Several other types of Visas are available and there are lots of excellent lawyers as well as relocation services that can assist you in all the necessary documentation.
Requirements to qualify for Pensionado (Retiree) Program
- Over 18 years of age.
- Proof of monthly income of $500 ($600 for couples) from a government agency (i.e. social security, disability, armed forces) or from a company.
- One-time application for Retirement Visa
Requirements to qualify for Person of Means Visa has three options:
- Purchasing a property of US$200,000.00
- Having a CD deposited in a Panamanian bank for two years in the amount of US$200,000.00 (Does not need to be renewed)
- A combination of the two options above, purchasing a property of US$80,000.00 AND having a CD deposit of US$120,000.00
